2013 Already?

So I find myself sitting in my studio on New Years Eve of 2012 thinking to myself, “What in the world happened to this year?” This one, more so than any other year I have experienced, has flown by faster than I am capable of recalling. So much has happened that I cannot even begin to recap it all! But I’ll try 🙂

Most importantly, this year my wife and I celebrated our first year of marriage. It’s been an interesting journey thus far, transitioning from bachelor to husband, and I can’t wait for what lies ahead for us in 2013! Outside of my personal life, my life has been more like a rollercoaster than ever. In the beginning of this year I launched Ignite Musical Training with absolutely NO IDEA how to run this business. And within weeks we launched LA Bass Lix too, which proved to be a much more in-depth project than I had presumed. I released two music videos and an album of original music (When Will Then Be Now), and even a surprise Christmas album too (and by ‘surprise’ I mean that it was a surprise to me!). On top of starting these businesses I have had the honor and pleasure to produce a few records out of my studio for some of my favorite artists, as well as some lovely touring opportunities with Ben Kolarcik out here on the west coast and also back east. My book, Advice for the Modern Worship Musician was sold at Christ in Youth bookstores across the nation and many churches have applied the literature in life-group studies with their worship teams. Needless to say, this has been an unbelievably blessed year for me, and I’m blown away with the outpour of support for my work.

So along with a recap of this year I’d like to extent a most heartfelt thank you to YOU for your constant love and support. I wouldn’t have the opportunity to do what I do if it weren’t for you, and I only hope that 2013 will allow me give more! I wish the very best for you this year, and my prayers are with those who have experienced pain and heartache in 2012. Let’s move forward into 2013 with our heads held high, and may the winds of destiny carry us aloft to dance with the stars!

I really wish that I was poetic enough to come up with that last line on my own, but it’s a line that Johnny Depp spoke from the movie ‘Blow.’ Anyways :/ Happy New Year!!!
